Here is a card that I made for the following Challenges:

Here is the sketch I used:
Here is my card:

What's that? Oh you just LOVE that paper... I know well, that is from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Stack from Stampin' Up! I'm done being scared of using up all my Designer Paper, I guess if it retires and I can't find it anymore, then it is time to move on. Right??? Uh now I'm scared again... What if I can't find more after it retires? Uh, I'm going to eat some junk food to make me feel better. LOL.

Thanks,
Maxine

Kaboodle Challenge/Tuesday Morning Sketches

Here is a project that I made for the following two challenges:

This is the front:

Back view:

This was my first attempt at these kinds of boxes. The squares are a little bit off, but you can't really tell unless you make these all the time or something. I used my SU Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper for the first time. I have so much DSP here, but I just don't want to use it for fear that I might run out and it'll get retired! LOL I also used my Eyelet Border punch from SU. Oh, Sale-A-Bration is still going on until the end of March, so if you want to get some free stuff contact me or click on the catalog for more info.

Thanks,
Maxine

1 Card for 2 Challenges

I made this card for

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

Pink is my FAVORITE color, so I made sure to make it ooze pink at every glance. I made the flowers using my circle punches from SU. I've seen them used before, and I was wanting to give them a try. I think they came out pretty good for the first time.

Maxine

My First Digital Scrapbook Page

I made this for the Designed to Inspire your Creativity Challenge aka Scrap and Stamp Saturday. I know that this is a SUPER simple looking scrapbook page, but it literally to me HOURS to complete. I like to think that I'm up to speed with the computer stuff and all, but boy was this not up my alley. I did get the hang of it though, so it should be a smoother ride next time around. Here's my layout which is ALL DIGITAL!!!!

Ok so I know it's kindda "is that it?" but hey it's my first page and trying to understand the layers thing in Paint Shop Pro really got to me. Primas is Cousins (female cousins) in Spanish.

Don't be to hard on me,
Maxine

Card Drive for a 100th Birthday!!!!!!

Here is the post that I seen on Lacey's Blog:

"My good friend Terry has asked me if I could help her collect 100 cards for her Aunt's 100th Birthday!! Her birthday is on April 4th (Easter Sunday).

Wouldn't that be such a great way to celebrate such a wonderful birthday?!

Oh, the things she has seen in her 100 years! Can you imagine growing up without TV's, computers, or cars!! She learned how to drive when she was 12 on a Model T Ford! She was married during the depression.

Margaret recently fell a few months ago, so she is having a little harder time getting around. But that hasn't stopped her from doing the dishes every night!! She is almost 100% self sufficient. That's what I want to be like if I live to my 100th birthday!!

Anyway, if you would like to send Margaret a card, please email me at LaceySoLiving@bellsouth.net and I will give you her address. She lives with my friend Terry, so Terry will keep track of all of the cards that are received by Saturday, April 3rd.

I will post the winner of the gift certificate on Monday, April 5th.
If you would be willing to post this on your blog, it would be greatly appreciated!!
Let's help Margaret have the best 100th birthday ever!!!
~Lacey"

I made this funny card for her, and I used the Sketch from Stampin for the Weekend:

It looked better in my head I think. LOL.

1 Card 4 Challenges!!!

Hello again!!! Here is a card that I made for 4 Challenges: Paper Sundaes (Distress your card), Friday Sketchers (use sketch below), High Hopes (add texture), and Cupcake Craft Challenge (keep it simple).

Here is my card:
I used a bit of different things, but I made sure that there was plenty of texture and distressing. You can't really tell, but I crumbled up the scalloped oval paper before attaching the smaller oval. It was a very simple card to say the least!

Thanks,
Maxine

Project for 3 Challenges

Here is a little project I made for fun. I wasn't sure how to get the right sizes for the inside so I just guessed. I think it came out pretty darn good for my first time. I will be submitting this for Krafin' Kimmie, Delightful Sketches and A Spoon Full of Sugar.
Here was the sketch I had to use:

Here is my project. Kimmie wanted us to create a scene for her challenge and over at A Spoon Full of Sugar, they wanted us to use Spring time:

Here is the inside. I put one pen and one pencil with a pad of sticky notes:

I'll probably end up getting bigger sticky notes to fill out the box. I now know for next time how to get the right size for what I put on the inside.

Thanks,
Maxine

Our First 5K Run!!!!

My and my kids did our first 5K!! I thought for sure we weren't going to make it to the end, but we did!!! Here are the scrapbook pages to prove it!

Journal Entry: "This was our first 5K!!! I didn't think that we would be able to do as good as we did, but we finished it in 53min 28seconds! Not once did Jordyn ask me to pick her up or tell me that we wanted to give up. I'm SO PROUD of her. She is growing up so fast!!!"

I used the Scrap and Stamp Saturday Sketch for the page with the pictures:

We have an 8K coming up in April!! YIKES!!! I'm glad that Jordyn is so motivated to keep active though. I make sure and let her know just how proud I am. She is the only Kindergardner coming up on 20 miles for her Run/Walk Club!

Thanks,
Maxine

Baby Shower Invites

Here are some of the Baby Shower Invitations that I made for my Sister-in-Laws upcoming baby shower. It was a mix between the "Cute and Cudley" invites and the jungle ones. I had asked Lacey a while back if it was ok to case her jungle card, and she said I could. Her work is so AMAZING! It was tricky trying to get all the images on the jungle card, but what I did was cut out each one and then use it to mask the others. Get it? If not let me know and I can shoot a little video or something.
I also made Erika a corsage and some baby shower pins for the guest. The picture below of the pins has both the pink and blue ones, but I only made the pink ones because she knows that she is having a baby girl. I've been a bit busy, so that's why I've been out of the loop lately. Any way, here they are:

The corsage was a bit on the big side, but my little sister said that "They are suppose to be big", so I hope Erika likes it. It covered most of the left side of my chest!
That's it for now,
Maxine

Demo Swap

Tonight we have a Demo swap, and we had to make 10 cards for our fellow demos. This is the card that I made. I used Paper Sundaes sketch to do it.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I used all Stampin' Up! materials for my card. I used Bordering Blue So Saffron, and Naturals Ivory Cardstock, I used the Designer Label Punch, Trio Flower Punch and Scallop Trim Border Punch (which I got free with my $50 purchase, and so can you!) I used Close to Cocoa ink, and I used clear embossing powder with the Chocolate Bunny stamp. I also used the Whimsical Words stamp set for the sentiment (which I also got for free!). I used the brayer on the Final Press embossing folder. That pretty much covers what I used for my card. I hope you guys like it.

Thanks,
Maxine

6 Challenges 1 Card

I made this card for Judge Marilyn Milian, you know from "The Peoples Court".... She is just such an inspiration as a Latina who has done such wonderful things. Any way, she is always saying "Toma el chocolate, paga lo que debe" which means take the chocolate pay for the chocolate. It's when people show up in her court room being sued for taking something and not paying for it! Any who, this a long over due thing that I wanted to do to let her know what she means to me. My 1 year old watches her with me and is always dancing to the song that plays when the people are walking in the court room. =) She ROCKS!!!!!  I made this card and am going to use it for 6 Challenges: Wags 'n Whiskers, Digital Delights, A Spoon Full of Sugar, Paper Sundaes, and Papertake Weekly. You can click on each link to see what was required for the challenge.
Here is the sketch from A Spoon Full of Sugar:

Here is my card!

Hope you guys like it!!!
Thanks,
Maxine
